Holly Possum!
Well, Wolfie's been gearing up for Thanksgiving. He can smell the goodies Mom's making for the big day and he's getting excited. We let him out in the back yard...he was gone for an awfully long time. So we got worried. Finally I went out into the yard, flashlight in-hand, looking for this crusader of anything edible. Finally, I spot Wolfie...he's absolutely motionless. Tail straight up and eyes peering into a tree. I watch him without saying anything. Not a movement! He's totally unaware I'm nearby. Finally, I shine the flashlight into the tree. There on a branch above the fence-line is an oppossum. Big, rat-like ugly son-of-a-gun! He's also totally motionless. So I retreat back to the comfort of the house leaving Wolfie to play possum with the possum. An hour later I decide to check up on him...both critters are in the same motionless positions! I call to Wolfie to come inside. No response. Finally, I end up picking him up and carrying him into the house. He's still standing by the door in anticipation for a rendevous with his new-found friend. Never a dull moment.

Poor Itchy dog!
Well, Wolfie's been pretty uncomfortable for awhile. He's constantly chewing and licking his paws. At first I thought he was just bored. Finally we took him to the vets the other day. He has allergies! His constant itchy paws have caused him to create an infection making things worse. We've started him on a regimen of anti-histamine and antibiotics and hypo-allergenic dogfood from the vets. Have you ever tried giving a dog capsules? Well, he's such a good dog that he allows me to place the capsule in the back of his throat with my finger. This is then followed by a little soft food and water. It's been several days since he's seen the vets and he's doing a lot better. Sleeps better at night for sure.
